Rachel Corby is a journalist whose work deals mainly with the relationship between people and plants. Her awareness of the potential of plants dates back to her time in Guatemal where she worked on a project to help protect the forest. Her new awareness of the knowledge and understanding these people had of the plant world served to fire her thirst for further learning on the subject which took her round the world from spending time with numerous African tribes to a full nine month apprenticeship in the wilds of New Mexico. Her scientific understanding came from the herbalists and her spiritual knowledge from the shamans. She shares her life with photographer Stephen Studd who provides much of the beautiful photography which illustrates her work.
