Acls for Emts

EMTs can find themselves in critical situations that require advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). Although EMTs are not trained to provide advanced-level skills, there is much they can do to improve the quality of management, and thus the patient#146;s chance for survival by understanding ACLS and facilitating its administration by ALS providers. Fully updated with the 2010 CPR and ECC guidelines, ACLS for EMTs familiarizes the reader with cardiac emergencies and the skills used to manage them.When the EMT in the field is faced with the decision of whether or not to request a Paramedic unit, and when the Paramedic unit arrives, the EMT will be a more integral part of the team due to the base knowledge attained from this program. This text can be used in an ACLS training course for EMTs, or as a supplement in an EMT course.
