Guillaume Apollinaire, pseudonyme de Wilhelm Albert Wlodzimierz Apollinary de Waz-Kostrowicki (1880-1918), est un des principaux potes franais du dbut du XXe sicle, auteur notamment du Pont Mirabeau. Il pratique le calligramme (terme de son invention dsignant ses pomes crits en forme de dessins et non de forme classiques en vers et strophes). Il est le chantre de toutes les avant-gardes artistiques, notamment le cubisme, pote et thoricien de LEsprit Nouveau, et prcurseur du surralisme dont il a forg le nom. Entre 1902 et 1907, il travaille pour divers organismes boursiers et commence publier contes et pomes dans des revues. Autres titles de cet auteur sont: LHrsiarque et Cie (1910), Alcools (1913) et Les Trois Don Juan (1914).
