Author Sid Garza-Hillman finds the current nutritional environment to be either dogmatic and inaccessible (too research- and science-heavy) or too New Age-y ó either way, itís a complete turn-off for more mainstream folks. This book reaches anyone with the desire to improve his or her health in the easiest and most accessible way possible. More and more people are finally getting that fad diets do not work: the current statistic is that 95 percent of these diets fail. Crazy equations, charts, and daily menus might get people going for a short period of time, but at the end of the day most just want a clearly explained, easily understood, effective way to live that brings them the health and happiness they seek to enjoy their lives. Approaching the Natural is the book that shows them how to do just that.
Sid Garza-Hillman was born in Los Angeles, and was raised in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Houston. He graduated from UCLA in 1991 with a B.A. in Philosophy. For the next 15 years he worked as a Screen Actors Guild actor, appearing in principal roles in Arlington Road, City of Angels, Men in Black 2, ER, and Freaks and Geeks among others. During that time he was also the principal singer/songwriter for the critically acclaimed alternative-western band, the Sid Hillman Quartet. In 2009, Sid received certification as a Nutritional Consultant from the Global College of Natural Medicine in Santa Cruz, CA. He works with private clients and teaches classes through his practice Transitioning to Health, and is currently the staff nutritional consultant at the Stanford Inn in Mendocino, California. He currently lives on the Mendocino Coast with his wife, 3 children, two dogs, two horses, and two guinea pigs (White Rose and Pink Rose).
