Aquaculture-based fisheries are fisheries based on the regular stocking of cultured organisms into natural or modified aquatic ecosystems. Operating for finfish, molluscs and crustaceans in inland and coastal waters, aquaculture-based fisheries represent a significant "niche" form of aquatic resource use.
