Summary

When Jad Wolf is in his early fifties, he's diagnosed with Hepatitis C. He thinks that this is about as bad as life can get when he's denied treatment for the disease because he's seriously depressed. It isn't until he's about sixty, however, that he discovers he suffers from bipolar disorder. He slowly discovers how the condition has affected his life and the lives of those close to him. Hoping to gain more perspective on his life, engage in some kind of therapy and also write something for his son, Jad recalls his mistakes and adventures - from smuggling drugs and guns to becoming a successful real estate businessman. He doesn't make excuses, but he does help everyone understand the "polar bears" of the world, which is what he calls the people who share his affliction - if it is an affliction. Join Jad as he recalls the mistakes of his past and seeks to understand himself, his condition and the world around him in Autobiography of a Polar Bear.
