Author Biography

Dr. Karen Shanor is a neuropsychologist, a former White House consultant, and an advisory member of Discovery Channel Global Education. At Stanford University she researched how rats learn, and how cats dream. Her work at NASA included animal research on memory and information processing. Dr. Shanor hosted an NBC radio program for five years and appears frequently on national television. Dr. Jagmeet Kanwal is Associate Professor in the Departments of Neurology, Neuroscience and Psychology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C, and External Professor at the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Kanwal works to develop a unified theory linking the functional organization of animal and human brains from the viewpoint of behavior. He enjoys observing and photographing nature.
