Author Biography

D. (Diana) R. Thompson has received accolades for her writing since childhood, and has been telling original stories to her children for years. She was born the youngest in a family of 12 in Okinawa, Japan. "Being born so close to the sea instilled a love of the ocean from the beginning of my life," said Thompson, "we even had a whole china cabinet devoted to only sea shells long after we moved back to the states." Childrens books authoring contrasts with her background as Thompson graduated cum laude from Eastern Washington University with her BS in physics. She has enjoyed a rewarding career as an avionics engineer designing and creating aircraft cockpit systems.Thompson enjoys camping and backpacking, and has hiked across the Grand Canyon four times. has also been an avid participant in community theatre.
