This book is the story of twelve church camps in northwest Georgia, eastern Tennessee, and southwestern Virginia, an area known by United Methodists as Holston Conference. Where the Rhododendrons Grow chronicles the development of camping and leisure ministries in the Holston Conference and the purchase and building of twelve campsites. It is the story of outdoor christian education in the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, the Evangelical United Brethren Church, and the Central Conference of the Methodist Church.
