Today's modern leaner military requires the hiring of thousands of contract workers and local nationals to work on U.S. bases performing services from translation to manual labor, light construction, maintenance and more. Out of the several thousand non-military personnel hired, insurgents are unceasing in their attempts to infiltrate, living and working right next to U.S. soldiers every day. Access and information are highly valuable commodities. He earned his academic degrees from Weber State University (B.S.), Naval Postgraduate School (M.A.), University of Oklahoma (M.P.A.), and the University of Pittsburgh (Ph.D.). He spent a career as a counterintelligence and counterespionage officer in the USAF and served one year in Iraq as a Senior Counterintelligence Agent in charge of a HUMINT Support Team. Dr. Saccone has dealt with hostile intelligence threats in Asia and the Middle East. He has visited, lived and worked in over 50 countries including six in the Middle East. He now teaches International Relations, Global Terrorism and Political Science at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.
