This book is a personal story of one woman's journey through abandonment and divorce. It is a naked inquiry into the anguish of her loss, not only physical loss but also the loss of a sense of self. She offers an inspired alternative, and explains how traumatic life experiences can be approached as an opportunity for new growth, greater fulfillment, true intimacy and creativity.

Andrée Eva Bosch was born in 1952 in Mpumalanga, she went on to major in English and Afrikaans at the University of Stellenbosch and UNISA. Andrée spent 10 fulfilling years as a journalist for several newspapers, after which she wrote freelance for various magazines. She is currently a partner in a furniture manufacturing company and considers her role as a mother, an occupation.

She wrote her father's biography, Esias Bosch (Struik Winchester 1988), a celebrated SA potter. Andrée also wrote a children's book, `n Blou Kameelperdjie vir Oupa (Human & Rousseau 1991) that was awarded the Old Mutual Prize for Children's Literature in 1993).
