The final work of Lionel Abrahams, a highly respected, award-winning, South African poet and novelist who passed away in 2004, this collection of poems demonstrates what it is to be a writer in chaotic times.
Lionel Abrahams was the publisher of Renoster Books and Bateleur Press and the editor of the literary magazines Purple Renoster, Quarry, and Sesame. In 1992 the English Academy of Southern Africa awarded him a gold medal for services to English. His poetry collections include A Dead Tree Full of Live Birds; Journal of a New Man; Lionel Abrahams: A Reader; and The Writer in Sand. He is also the author of two novels, The Celibacy of Felix Greenspan and The White Life of Felix Greenspan.
