Internationally renowned Italian photographer Equine lovers will come out of the stables for this book by Cinquini, whose passion for horses is outdone only by his passion for photography. In 417 color shots, he illustrates numerous little-known horse traditions all over the world-from horses that dance at weddings in India to horseback festivals in Sardinia and Tibet. While the cultures represented vary tremendously, the people all share a common bond with the horse. Cinquini's book is similar in content and quality to Jacqueline Ripart's Horses of the World: From the Desert to the Racetrack, but it is broader in scope and has about twice as many photographs. Though a bit pricey for cost-conscious public libraries, this would make a lovely memorial donation and is recommended for all large collections.-Patsy E.
