Summary

1927. The Bride of Bagdad is a drama about on an episode in the life of Haroun Al Raschid, the idol of the Arabian Nights. It is based on historical events and reveals the weakest side of the famous caliph. While from the Oriental point of view there was nothing criminal in the passionate love which Haroun entertained for his half-sister Abassa, the treatment accorded to his prime minister and the whole family of Barmecides throws a shadow upon his career which cannot be lightly dismissed.
