Summary

This bewitching first novel is a puzzle, wrapped in a mystery, disguised as an adventure, and delivered as a work of art. When unexplainable occurrences bring Petra Andalee and Calder Pillay together, strange things start to happen, and the two find themselves at the center of an international art scandal.

Author Biography

Blue Balliett grew up in New York City. She has always loved museums, always loved mysteries, and always loved hearing about things that can't be explained in the usual ways. Blue studied art history at Brown University. She and her family live in Chicago, Illinois, where, before becoming a full-time writer, she taught at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Brett Helquist grew up in Utah and Arizona with his six sisters. As kids, they didn't visit many museums. He says his love of art came from all the comic books he read
