Dr.Ron Taffel, one of the country's most sought-after child-rearing experts, offers an original and empowering explanation of the challenging behavior parents face today: back-talking, sense of entitlement, endless negotiation, and sexual behavior at ever younger ages. Rather than labeling them narcissists, we must understand today's kids as a distinctive "free-est" generation, born to the first generation of "post-baby boomer" parents and the product of a decades' long cultural sea change. Based on vivid success stories, he walks parents through the methods they can use to get their kids' attention, engage them in authentic and meaningful conversation in order to provide the guidance they need, nurture positive behavior, and set limits they will respect. His inspiring analysis and expert guidance provide the authoritative new approach to raising kids that parents have been searching for. Book jacket.
