Author Biography

WU CHENG'EN was an accomplished writer in China during the 16th century Ming Dynasty. A former imperial official who grew unhappy with the political corruption surrounding him, Wu escaped into solitude and wrote stories and poems for the rest of his life. He is considered to be the author of Journey To the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature.
