Summary

Competing with your gundog is great fun, but many owners are unaware of the many year-round training and competitive opportunities in which they can be involved. Many also think that the skills required are above them, and that such events are available only to the very experienced amateur or the gundog professional. This is very far from the truth. Author Biography

Nigel Dear is an enthusiastic field trial, working test competitor and trainer. His Hungarian Vizsla, Aldom Red Grouse (Jack), was for several years the top working Vizsla in the UK. Nigel was the field trial secretary of the Hungarian Vizsla Society for four years, a past chairman of the Hunt, Point, Retrieve Field Trial Association, a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor scheme and is the Kennel Club's Field Trial Secretary.
