Author Biography

Laura Krauss Melmed is the bestselling author of children’s books that include Capital!: Washington D.C. from A to Z, I Love You as Much . . . , and New York, New York!: The Big Apple from A to Z. She is the recipient of the American Library Association Notable Award, the National Jewish Book Award, the Oppenheim Gold Award, and the Parent’s Choice Award, and she is a former president of the Children’s Book Guild.

Phillip Wells is an illustrator whose work has appeared in the Beaufort Gazette and the Island Packet. Phillip received his education in illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Some of his favorite children's books are Where the Wild things Are and Green Eggs and Ham. Doodle Florida is his first children’s book. He lives and works in Columbia, S.C.
