Author Biography

Charles D. Brown is respected throughout the aerospace world and has had a distinguished career as manager of planetary spacecraft projects and as a college lecturer in spacecraft design. During his 30 years with Lockheed Martin, he led the design team that produced propulsion systems for Mariner 9 and Viking Orbiter. Most recently he directed the team that produced the Magellan spacecraft. Brown has taught a popular design course at University of Colorado at Boulder
