Summary

Although this book presents mostly Polish research, it deals with general problems and is addressed to a wider scientific community. Particular chapters present results of research undertaken in the major areas of environment protection and engineering. The book covers how to estimate the state of scientific research in various areas of environmental engineering and determine the perspectives of their development and how to estimate the organizational, technical and technological ventures to ensure the ecological security. It explores the place of environmental engineering in the realization of the concept of sustainable development, taking into account the current political and economic conditions.
