Summary

Using deconstructionist methodology this book reflects on the relationship between feminism and International Relations. After two decades of scholarship formally recognised as feminist international relations " there is on-going confusion about the impact of this work. This book tangentially addresses this confusion through an analysis of the ways in which the discipline of International Relations engages feminism and vice versa. The author conceptualizes this engagement in the context of a broad range of critically inspired theories and methodologies that have also played a significant role in complicating the contemporary study of International Relations over the last two decades namely, poststructuralism, critical race theory, queer theory and masculinity studies. Ultimately the book uses the opportunity of reflecting on the relationship between feminism and International Relations to arrive at a creative analysis of power, violence, and methodology - through feminism.
