Finally, it provides a thorough discussion of mediated forms of communication (use of cell phones, email, newsgroups, and online chat rooms). Significant Additions to the Tenth Edition New material on a variety of topics, including updated coverage of supportive communication, speech communities, the five-step active learning process, influence theory, and mediated communication. Six Inter-Action Dialogues, interspersed throughout the book, demonstrate the ways in which skills taught in the text are used in real-life situations.
