Author Biography

TRICIA COVERDALE-JONES is Principal Lecturer and eLearning Coordinator, School of Languages and Area Studies at the University of Portsmouth, UK. She has considerable experience of dealing with Chinese students on a daily basis in the UK Higher Education context. This is reinforced by an understanding of and profound interest in intercultural issues. As a convinced internationalist she believes that the transnational experience can be enhanced through greater understanding and research. 
 
PAUL RASTALL is a Principal Lecturer and Faculty International Coordinator, University of Portsmouth, UK. He has had responsibility for the development and management of international programmes for several years. He is currently responsible for developing numerous collaborative arrangements with universities in China, Hong Kong, and other Far Eastern countries. His academic background and publications are in Linguistics and English Language but he has also published on the needs of Chinese learners and worked with Tricia Coverdale-Jones on organizing conferences and publishing Chinese academic collaboration.
