Maria Stranieri was born in Italy, where family life revolved around the kitchen and wonderful aromas filled the air. After many years of experimentation at home, she formalized her experience by attending the Connecticut Culinary Institute to become a chef. Later, she started Spesa Restaurant as a new concept for Italian takeout and began teaching culinary courses in New England. Today she continues to teach Italian cooking courses and also operates as a personal chef. Visit chefmaria.com.
