Author Biography

Alex Liddell was born in Glasgow in 1934. He pursued an academic career as a university lecturer in philosophy and politics until 1987, following which he became a wine investment advisor, working in Europe between 1987 and 1991. He is the author of Port Wine Quintas of the Douro and a contributor on Portuguese table wines to the 1997 Oz Clarke's Wine Guide. He has a lifelong interest in Madeira and fortified wine.
