Author Biography

About Sharon Snyders

Sharon Snyders has been helping community college and university students to become better readers and achieve their personal and career goals for over twenty years. Sharon received Ivy Tech Community College’s top teaching award, the Glenn W. Sample Award for Excellence in Instruction, in 2005. She has also been honored with the President’s Award for Excellence in Instruction and received the NISOD Award for Excellence. Sharon serves as the Program Chair for Academic Skills Advancement - Reading, and has served in the past as chair of the College and Life Success program. She has not only conducted extensive educational research, but has also presented at numerous state and national conferences over the years. Currently Sharon serves as the President-Elect of INADE, The Indiana Association of Developmental Educators, and is actively involved in serving her college and her community through various committees and volunteer activities.

Sharon is passionate about enabling all students to be empowered with knowledge, inspiration, and hope as they discover the pleasure and opportunity reading creates. She lives in Indiana with her husband, daughter, dog, and two cats. Sharon enjoys walking in the woods, listening to music, visiting people, and exploring new places.
