Author Biography

Rebecca Smith is a chip off the old block; in addition to being Jane Austen’s great-great-great-great-great niece, she’s followed her famous forbearer’s footsteps and devoted her life to writing. Rebecca was the first official writer in residence at Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton, England. She teaches creative writing at the University of Southampton, and is the author of The Bluebird Café, Happy Birthday and All That, and A Bit of Earth. This is her first nonfiction book.
