Each of the Hawaiian Islands offers a world of its own. How can you choose just one? Island hopping is an art, not a science.
In this full-color guide, Hawaii resident Kevin Whitton tells you everything you need to know to plan the perfect getaway. The book covers O’ahu, Maui, Lana’i, Moloka’i, Kaua’i, and the Big Island of Hawai’i. Whitton also provides:
A strategic two-week itinerary covering all of the islands Tips on how to choose the right island for you Options for extending your stay on each island The perfect island pairings and experiences that complement one another like fine wine added to a great meal Information on getting from island to island by plane and ferry Vibrant photos and helpful planning maps
Complete with details on everything from the best beaches and restaurants to when to go for whale watching, Moon Hawaiian Islands gives travelers the tools they need to create a more personal and memorable experience.
Avid surfer and nature-lover Kevin Whitton has traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Indonesia, and Australia. He’s volunteered as a trail guide in a private Costa Rican rain forest preserve and as a snowmobile guide in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. When confronted with the choice between living in the mountains and visiting the beach, or living at the beach and visiting the mountains, Kevin refused to choose, deciding to call Oahu home instead. Now when he waits for a wave at one of his favorite windward or North Shore surf breaks, he can gaze at the verdant mountains and revel in the best of both worlds.
Kevin is the author of the award-winning Green Hawaii: A Guide to a Sustainable and Energy Efficient Home and A Pocket Guide to Hawaii’s Botanical Gardens. He writes for Hawaii’s most notable regional publications, is active in the islands’ surf media, is the managing editor at Element Media, and is the co-founder and editor of GREEN: Hawaii’s Sustainable Living Magazine.
