Author Biography

Writer Aurelia d’Andrea’s earliest living-in-France fantasies were born in Mademoiselle Onesto’s freshman-year French class, and featured baguettes, berets, and Beaujolais. Decades later, Aurelia manifested those beloved Gallic clich&eactue;s (and a few others) into real life when she made her second big move from San Francisco to La Ville Lumière in 2010.

From the Rive Droite apartment she shares with her husband and bilingual rescue dog, Fanny, Aurelia can spot the Eiffel Tower clear on the other side of the river and the bulbous spires of Sacre Coeur basilica just up the street. While she never tires of the views, she’s not immune to wanderlust; whenever possible, she hops a train and heads off to one of l’Hexagone’s many picturesque corners to soak up the local scenery and culture. Recent adventures include pink flamingo-watching in the marshlands outside of Montpellier, and an Alsatian wine-sampling weekend in picturesque Strasbourg.
