Summary

Nashville resident Margaret Littman gives readers an insider's look at the Volunteer State, from the civil war battlefields of Middle Tennessee to Knoxville's World's Fair Park. To help travelers plan their trip, Littman provides unique trip itinerary suggestions, including Downtown and the Delta, Into the Heartland, and From Bluegrass to the Blues. Complete with tips on where to go hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, making the most of the amazing music scenes in Nashville and Memphis, and which of the state's festivals are worth attending, Moon Tennessee gives travelers to tools they need to create a more personal and memorable experience.

Author Biography

Margaret Littman is both a newcomer to Tennessee and an old-timer. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, she left for points north, but after 17 years (and long winters) in Chicago, she returned to live in the Volunteer State. Margaret has been a freelance writer and editor for 20 years. In that time, she's worked on guidebooks for a number of travel publishers, and has contributed to publications including Chicago magazine, LifetimeTV.com, Ladies’ Home Journal, Wine Enthusiast, Crain’s Chicago Business, Time Out Chicago, and the Chicago Tribune. She launched an iPhone app called the Nashville Essential Guide, which tells both locals and visitors about the must-see picks in Music City, last year, and has written about other points in the state for Entrepreneur and The Tennessean, among other publications. Today, Margaret lives in Nashville. Four years after moving to the city, few days go by that she's not pleasantly surprised by what she sees, hears, and learns there.
