Author Biography

John White is a lifelong sports fanatic who has dedicated his spare time to compiling an impressively comprehensive database of sporting facts and figures. He is the author of more than a dozen titles in Carlton's Miscellany series. An Irishman from Belfast, he has followed Moto GP in all its guises for more than three decades.

John Surtees, OBE, who contributed the foreword, is a four-time 500cc World Champion (1956, 1958, 1959, and 1960), and the only man to win world titles on two and four wheels. (He won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1964.) Although in his 80s, Surtees still appears regularly on television as an analyst on MotoGP and Formula 1 racing.
