On the Move: Lesson Plans to AccompanyChildren Moving, Eighth Edition This text is designed to offer learning experiences for children that assist them in developing a broad base of movement skills coupled with an enjoyment of physical activity that will translate into a physically active, healthy lifestyle for a lifetime. Some of the highlights are (1) instructional objectives that are attainable within a single lesson; (2) content development with a focus on a skill rather than on broad exploration; (3) maximum practice of the focus skill; (4) concentration on one cue at a time; (5) challenges throughout the lessons; and (6) both cognitive and performance assessments.
