Summary

Following Schwartz around the world, readers are taken on a journey of self-discovery as the author explores how her travels have influenced her in various stages of her life. As an adolescent, she visited Miami Beach with her aunt and uncle andwas confronted by the sensation of not belonging; as a young woman in Rome, she was made to ponder the difference between innocence and ignorance; a trip to Jamaica brought her face to face with acute political and social unrest and, on a family trip to Montreal, she watched her daughters make their own startling realisations.
