Author Biography

Dr. Theron Stimmel began his academic career playing clarinet at Southern Methodist University. He decided to earn his living as a psychology professor but always maintained a strong passion for music while obtaining a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan.Theron founded the Department of Psychology at Texas State University, where he served as chair and continues to research and teach. In 2005 he developed a course entitled Psychology and Opera. The positive response to this class inspired him to write Opera and the Psychology of Love.
