Author Biography

Shmuel Trigano is a professor of politics and sociology at the University of Paris-Nanterre and the director of the Paris Alliance Isralite Institute of Jewish Studies. He is the editor of the journals Pards and Controverses and has written numerous books in the fields of philosophy, political thought, and Jewish studies, including The Democratic Ideal and the Shoah: The Unthought in Political Modernity (SUNY Press). David Novak holds the Shiff Chair of Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto. He is the author of Covenantal Rights: A Study in Jewish Political Theory (Princeton University Press) and the Sanctity of Human Life (Georgetown University Press).
