This new workbook approach allows the recovering addict to focus on what recovery really means. That is, it addresses what he or she has done and is presently doing to sustain his or her recovery. The workbook is constructed in such a way as to offer tangible signs of recovery, allowing for pertinent papers (e.g., receipts, personal correspondence, mementos of achievement), and/or photographs to be displayed in progressive chapters. It allows the recovering addict to acknowledge the past, but in a positive sense highlight accomplishments, and actually "touch" and "see" his or her recovery as it develops and unfolds.
