The social and cultural tests that the Palestinians have faced during the past 60 years bring to life this mosaic of experiences and historical landmarks. The author shares her own memoirs and experiences in Palestine and presents the interviews she conducted with the elders expelled from their land when the nation of Israel was established in 1948. She argues that the indifference of the Western powers has allowed the erosion of the Palestinian state and tracks the development of what she calls “the Zionist Project,” which began in Europe in the 19th century, at the same time she unravels history thread-by-thread.
