Summary

The 150th anniversary of Stanislavsky's birth comes up in 2013. It's timely, therefore, to publish a definitive one-volume collection of his selected correspondence, in English. Laurence Senelick is one of the world's foremost scholars of Russian literature. This will be the only one-volume edition covering the whole of Stanislavsky's life, and has the advantage of access to archives in Moscow which were previously unavailable. Many of the letters will never have been seen before and there has never been such a full and representative account of Stanislavsky's life and work.
