Author Biography

Gregory Weeks is Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science & Public Administration at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research focuses on Latin American politics, U.S.-Latin American relations, and Latino immigration. His previous books are The Military and Politics in Postauthoritarian Chile (2003); U.S. and Latin American Relations (2008); The Bachelet Government: Conflict and Consensus in Post-Pinochet Chile (with Silvia Borzutzky); and Irresistible Forces: Explaining Latin American Migration to the United States and its Effects on the South (with John R. Weeks).
