Author Biography

David Joyner is an associate professor of music and director of Jazz Studies at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. From 1986 to 2000, he was an associate professor on the faculty of the renowned Jazz Studies division at the University of North Texas in Denton. Dr. Joyner holds a BM and PhD from the University of Memphis, and an MM from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
