Author Biography

<b>Andy Russell</b>, born in 1915, grew up on a ranch in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains. He left high school in Lethbridge to head out to the Rockies as a trapper, then worked as a cowboy and ranch hand before becoming a trail guide. After thirty years of this, he began to photograph the wildlife around him, and to write about it. Soon he was a famous and best-selling author, with books such as <i>Grizzly Country</i>, <i>Horns in the High Country</i>, <i>The High West</i>, <i>The Rockies</i>, <i>Memoirs of a Mountain Man</i>, <i>The Life of a River</i>, and <i>The Canadian Cowboy</i>.<br><br>A member of the Order of Canada, the recipient of three honorary degrees, and an elected member of the Explorers Club, Andy Russell lives on a ranch bordering Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta.<br><br><br><i>From the Hardcover edition.</i>
