Author Biography

Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer, poet, critic, and journalist. He is recognized as a master of short stories and is known particularly for his gothic novels and horror stories. He is considered the inventor of the detective story. Henry James was an Irish-American writer. His books include The Portrait of a Lady, The Wings of the Dove, and The Golden Bowl. Some of his novels have been adapted into films. Mary Shelley was a British Gothic writer. She is best known for her novel Frankenstein
