Summary

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

A novel about the flavors of families and the authentic beauty of Mallorca.

An ode to love, to harmony of everyday life, and endless summers.

Can a recipe help you discover who you are?

After a distress call from her mother, Marina returns to Mallorca, the island where she was born. She returns ready to take over the reins of La Ultramarina, the family business that is much more than just a restaurant. There, she relives the memories she treasures with the most important women in her life: her grandmother Carmen, her mother, and her sister, Irene. Going back to her roots at such a vital moment gives her back the peace and calm she needs, but it also forces her to face uncertainty head-on.

Salty Blue is Marta Simonet’s debut novel where she subtly, emotionally, and nostalgically builds a summer of new memories, flavors, and aromas. A novel that helps us rediscover our magic and reunites us with who we are, something often forgotten. A sensitive and delicate, romantic, and painful story that narrates how eating is much more than just eating: eating is remembering, eating is finding ourselves.

Essential, magnetic, Mediterranean.
