Author Biography

Quiara Alegría Hudes was nominated for a Tony Award for her book for IN THE HEIGHTS (2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, 2009 Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize). She grew up in Philadelphia, and now lives in New York with her husband and her daughter. Shino Arihara illustrated CECI ANN'S DAY OF WHY, which Booklist said portrayed a “multicultural, urban community with an affection that calls forth Ezra Jack Keats.” Her artwork has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, and Time Magazine. She lives in Altadena, CA.
