Bioinformatics, computational biology, is a relatively new field that applies computer science and information technology to biology. Author Biography

Dr. M.H. Fulekar is a Professor and Head in Department of Life Sciences, University of Mumbai. He has published to his credit a number of research papers and articles in international and national journals of repute. He has had an international assignment on industrial hygiene/chemical safety in Australia, Bangkok and Singapore. He has authored a number of books -(i) Environmental Biotechnology, (ii) Industrial Hygiene and Chemical Safety, (iii) Dictionary of Biotechnology and (iv) Personal Protective Equipment. He has achieved the inclusion of his biography in 'The Marquis Who's Who' in Science and Engineering USA in 1998; and '2000 outstanding scientists of the 20th century' in 2000, International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England. He is also a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, USA.
