During the latter half of the 1930s, the fear of a possible knock-out blow from the air on Great Britain became a dominating factor in the formulation of national defence policy. But how justified were these pre-war fears in the light of the Luftwaffe's capabilities in 1939? Blitz on Britain describes in detail the bombing attacks on Britain, while looking at the operations of the defences to parry them.
