Author Biography

Floyd Vogt is a sixth generation carpenter/contractor. After completing a B.A. in chemistry from the State University of New York College at Oneonta, Mr. Vogt returned to the field as a self-employed remodeler. In 1985, he began teaching at State University of New York at Delhi in Delhi, New York, in the Carpentry program. He has taught many courses, including Light Framing, Advanced Framing, Math, Energy Efficient Construction, Finish Carpentry, Finish Masonary, and Estimating. Currently, Mr. Vogt is a Professor in Construction Design-Build Management Bachelors degree program at Delhi. He has served as a carpentry regional coordinator for Skills-USA and a post-secondary Skills-USA student advisor.
