Excerpts

Changes are like the shifting sands of the Sahara. Like the sands, life is unpredictable. There are always underlying factors that cause these sudden shifts in our lives that we sometimes indulge in the luxury of complacency. Complacency is a lonely island, a mirage that fades as we get closer to reality. Complacency can bury us like the sands of the Sahara. Changes in our lives can build walls that are not easy to get over. Women need a shelter to get out of the wind at those unbearable times. God is that shelter. He is a providential God. He is ever with us through trials and tribulations. Sometimes it takes going on the journey called, Change to open our eyes to see the shelter. We often walk past this shelter at least once a day. God is a strong Mountain, which does not move. The shelter comes only if we take the journey back to the mountain. Sage went on a journey after tragedy ripped through her and her family's lives. The journey took Sage a long way from that shelter. Like the Prodigal Son, who left his earthly father in the parable, she left her Heavenly Father because of the tragedy, heartache, pain, and loss. Life is an unconquerable part of humanity. Life and its events can be fierce and unchanging. The trails that beset humans are inhospitable and unforgiving. Hope becomes elusive. Humans sometimes chase hope as one would try to find the Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow. There within life's shifting sands lies hopelessness. Sage's encounter with the world and what it has to offer was different from what she envisioned, like the mirage the closer you get the more it fades into eternity. Her journey back to God was just as daunting a task as the journey away from God. Sage lost her hope and faith in God, but she also found it again at the end of her journey. All roads in life lead back to God no matter where they begin. Life is like living in a circle, you end up the same place you start. Sage's journey and discovery begins...
