Author Biography

Robert M. Thornton received his undergraduate degree from the California Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. from Harvard University. Currently a faculty member of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis, Bob has taught botany, plant physiology, and introductory biology for 30 years and spends a great deal of his time concentrating on the learning and problem-solving challenges of the undergraduate science student. He also has a strong interest in multimedia and has developed a number of interactive tutorials and animations for use in his own classes.
